The Εrasmus+ program "Le paysage sonore dans lequel nous vivons" -- which gives also the title to this Symposium organised by the Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music Research and Applications [EPHMEE] on Friday, June 28, 2019 -- was structured as a set of creative actions a) in the field of the critical study of Sound Environment by means os sound recording, b) the use of this active audio material as a basis for artistic thinking and musical production and c) the integrated view of the two previous -- and particularly of the audio material they produce -- as a tool for cultivation of an innovative educational thinking and practice. Each of the research teams, coming from the Groupe Musiques Vivantes de Lyon GMVL (France) go, Tempo Reale of Florence (Italy) go, Associazione Amici della Musica di Cagliari go (Italy) and AFEA / Festival DME (Dias de Música Electroacústica) of Seia (Portugal) go and the EPHMEE of Corfu (Greece) have undertaken work towards the above mentioned directions, producing a rich library of recordings, instances of the soundscape of various European sites, and a wide range of musical / audio compositions, as well as original methodologies for applying sound, in general and the sound-products of this collaboration in particular, for the articulation of original pedagogical actions centred on the soundscape we live in.
The aim of this symposium is to present to the public, by means of the work and the results that were produced during this three-year collaboration, a wide range of reflections about the importance of sound in today's culture: from environmental sound recording techniques and the artistic creation inspired by soundscape to a pedagogy based on it.
